no games load up- is this overheating? i have xbox one X

Before considering this, I can suggest you other possible solutions:

A. Do a factory reset:

Go to settings > system > console info > reset > select remove everything.

Make sure to know your credentials before doing this process.

In case your device is enrolled in the Xbox insider program, make sure to remove your console from it.

hey thanks for reaching out-sorry for replying a bit late, essentially all i've tried to do is hold button down and do a hard reset like 10 times but that's dosent fix it so it i'm wondering if its overheating but no message for overheating pops up it's just whenever i go onto the game it instantly shuts down and takes me back to the home

The Xbox One X will shut off should there be overheating, yes.

I am having the same problem with NBA 2K20 and only this game. I can't get passed halftime in a game without the my Xbox One X completely shutting down. When I turn the Xbox One X back on, I get a message that it shutdown to prevent overheating. The console
is in a well ventilated open space.

I have zero issues with any other game or app.
