No Game Audio when Audio output through both headset and speakers

This cannot be correct? how can it be a bug to only want to play audio through a headset and not through both headset and soundbar/speakers? you have always been able to choose the option to only play through a headset and turn off the output via speaker, since the September update you no longer can.

what possible use case would there be to play audio through both speaker and headset?

Please access audio settings by pressing the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide. Navigate to Profile & System > Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output.

Under the Volume section, look for Party Chat Output.

Select Headset for party chat audio to come through your headset only.

And for the game audio output. Make sure that your Audio Setup is configured to output game audio through your TV speakers. You might need to select the appropriate audio format under Speaker Audio (e.g., Stereo Uncompressed).

Next is to go to Discord audio settings. In the Discord app on your Xbox, check if there are any specific audio settings that allow you to route voice chat separately.

Once everything is done, start a game and join a Discord voice chat to confirm that party chat is coming through your headset and game audio is playing through your TV speakers.

Hi, just to make sure. Are you not using an insider build / beta OS on your console, right?

If not. Please try factory resetting the console but keeping games and apps
Go to settings > system > console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps (or if you don't mind select remove everything)
Make sure to know email and password for each profile / your account

If that doesn't work, could be nice perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.
