Regarding with the hard reset that you performed on your console, was it a reset where you select Reset and Remove Everything?

Does this used to work before, or this was the case ever since you got your Xbox console?

Are you using a child account? If you are using a child account, permission is needed from the parent account to enable the Communication & multiplayer settings like You can join multiplayer games, You can join cross-network play and You can communicate outside of the Xbox network with voice & text options. But if you are not using a child account, make sure also that these setting are enabled on your account. Hey Sir Rastan!

Have you done the good old trick of removing your profile off your console and adding it back? Could be something to try first. Make sure all your game saves are saving to the cloud as backup before you try this!

Remove profile:

Add profile back:
http://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/manage-gamertag-and-profile/download-your-xbox-live-profile-to-another-xbox-one-console

I have a friend who ALWAYS shows offline, even when they are definitely online. If I start a party, they can join, even though they show "offline".

It shows offline in games like ESO as well.

That friend says he sees the same thing for my profile, always offline.

Other friends show the correct status, it's only this one that has an issue.

Any ideas how to resolve?

You may have the chosen the option to appear as offline.

You can check it by pressing the "Xbox Button" on your controller to open the menu, there scroll left or right to the Sign in Tab, and press on your xbox profile icon, another menu will show up and there you will find an option at the bottom, select it and you will see a list where you can choose to appear either offline or online

Hey An Xbox Dude!

Just curious other options I have power cycled every piece of equipment dping with the Xbox one.

Cleared the cache on the system

Removed my profile and redownloaded

Logged into other xbl accounts on my consol.

Is there anything more I can do?
