    What should i use a Component or Hdmi Cable?

    I have to use component (2001 model Sony XBR big screen HDTV), component has a max resolution of 1080i, HDMI will do 1080p, if the TV is capable (and games compatible).

    I also run through my receiver which upconverts everything to 1080i.
