No audio when xbox 1 hooked to pc monitor

We have a 3 monitor set up. We hooked our xbox one up to one of the monitors using an hdmi to displayport adaptor that advertised it transmitted video AND audio. Our monitors do NOT have hdmi ports (that's why we needed the adapter). They also do NOT have
any sound or ports for sound (no aux ports). We have external speakers hooked to our PC tower for our computer audio. How can we get the xbox sound to play through the external speakers that are hooked to our pc? Are there some kind of settings on the Xbox
or on the pc to get the Xbox audio to play through the external pc speakers? The speakers themselves are older and only have a headphone jack.

If I switch the speakers aux cord from the PC to the controller you can hear game sound but then he can't chat because the speakers do not have a microphone, plus I would have to switch back and forth between PC and xbox.

    :)

No audio when xbox 1 hooked to pc monitor

Tried this, it did not work for some reason, but even if it did ...it would still take up the port on the controller that he uses for his headset for chat.

It's really not that important to me to buy a whole new speaker system. I just thought if the hdmi to displayport wire was supposed to transmit audio then maybe it was a setting in xbox or the pc that needed to be changed to get the speakers to switch between
the xbox audio and the pc audio.

A friend suggested an adapter to go from the xbox audio s/pdif port to a 3.5 mm aux, but I only find special fiber optic ones that won't work with a standard 3.5 aux port.

connect a 3.5mm cable to the controller and the input section of the soundcard on pc to pass through sound the pc speakers. or get a speaker setup for your pc with multiple inputs so you can then select different sources and use optical.

XBONE connecting to monitor and television?

I am a bit confused on what you are asking.

The xbox one has 1 HDMI out to be hooked up to any monitor or TV that supports HDMI. It also has an optical audio out to hook up to an audio receiver in case you don't have audio on your monitor or you want to hook it up to a home audio receiver.

The other HDMI port is an HDMI IN and that is for your cable/sat box to be hooked up to. So the xbox will show whatever is on through that cable box.

Unless you have an HDMI splitter there will be no way to get the Xbox to show on your monitor and your TV. A splitter is not all that expensive. It would be hooked up to your HDMI out on the xbox. 3 hdmi cables would be needed.

External Audio Connection for Xbox Series X

    Hi,

An HDMI audio splitter (also called an 'extractor') should work. However be warned, most of cheaper splitters can't do 4K at 60Hz, shop wisely.

Normally the 3.5mm audio port on a monitor should work fine with a set of decent speakers. I have a set of speakers plugged into my LG monitor, sound is fine. It wasn't at first until I realised the volume on my monitor was only at 50% volume.

I don't use my monitor for Xbox, it's for my gaming PC, I do have my Switch hooked up to it though, audio is fine there too.

Monitor with X12's HDMI Connection Xbox 360 E

    Hello OriginalDarknez,

You are able to use BenQ monitors with your 360.

You will need to hook the Xbox up to the monitor via HDMI and then get a Audio Adapter Cable (Turtle Beach makes a version of this:

    www.turtlebeach.com/.../349
    )

Your headset will then grab audio from the Xbox itself not from the monitor.

    Hope this helps you out!
