    No audio track in Game DVR recordings


    I've seen various posts relating to Game DVR not recording on XBox and previous versions of Windows but the issue still exists in Windows 11. There was even a post suggesting 'downgrading' the system output from 5.1 audio to Stereo which isn't a fix at all. Its a weak workaround.

    Has there been any advance on this issue?

    I would hope that in 2023 DVR would be capable of recording in 7.1 (at least automatically downmixing it when the recording ends).

    In the last month I have lost audio in the recordings. When I put the video through Adobe Premier there is no audio track at all!

    I have tried altering the audio settings locally in Windows as well as my Soundblaster driver. No change.

    No, your specific TV volume will not change the recorded volume of in-game sound on DVR. With certain external video editing software, It seperates the video track from the audio, allowing adjustment of sound level, as well as the adding of more audio tracks
    (I.E., music, voice-over, etc), in which custom adjust of volume can be made as well.

    DVR not recording sound

    IF the game plays audio fine, and you then start the DVR recording then you should record audio fine. This is not the case since they did that 1404 update.

    I found that if you did a reset the DVR was recording audio again.

    Power down the machine. Unplug the power from the back till the power block light

    changes to orange. Plus back in, and reboot. It worked for me.

    Not that I'm aware - you can have the game dvr not record audio I believe but I don't think there's an audio only option.
