No audio from Xbox Elite controller

On the Accessories app when I select Audio the levels have been altered. As i said to get decent audio from my headphones i need to have the controller audio and in game controller audio set to 100%. This suggests either an issue with the headphones [where
there was none before with regular xbox one controllers] or something with how the elite 2 handles audio. Can it be anything else?

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with your Xbox Elite controller, please make sure that both the Elite controller and your Xbox console are updated to the latest firmware version.

Go to your Xbox console's audio settings and make sure they are set correctly. Go to Settings > Devices & Accessories > Audio > Audio Output and make sure you select the appropriate option for game and chat audio.

Hey everyone,

Audio worked out of the box for me. A USB Audio Device appeared when I plugged the Stereo Headset adaptor into the controller AND plugged headphones into the adaptor.

This is using a standard Xbox One controller (i.e. not an elite) via the wireless adaptor with v20.24.34.491 drivers.

This is really frustrating. Audio technica are telling me to contact you and you are telling me to contact audio technica

Im sure one of you big corporations could test this headphone with the elite controller to see if it works and how it works with the controller. Is the 3.5mm elite controller port the same as the xbox adapter port?
