No audio after startup

My Xbox was working fine today until a couple of hours ago. I turned off my console for a short time and, when I turned it back on about 30 minutes later, I had no audio over my TV. I can only hear audio through a headset and now I no longer hear anything over my TV through Xbox. My TV is fine, I can still watch channels without any problems, it's just the Xbox that has this issue. I already went through troubleshooting. My HDMI cable is fine and nothing was changed in the audio settings. The only thing new today was a console update I had to download and install this morning. I have not attempted to do a factory reset yet, I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem today?

I've had my XBOX One S for a few years now and I've NEVER had this issue before today.

I finally resolved the issue when I had my TV download the latest system software update. After the download, my Xbox had working audio over the TV when I powered it back on.

Kindly follow the steps below to fix the issue:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options.

Select Video fidelity & overscan.

Under Display, select HDMI.

Hello @UnbarringApollo! I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing.

With issues like these, the first thing I would suggest is to double check the setting. Here's how:

Go to Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options > Video fidelity & overscan >Under Display, select HDMI.

However, if the issue persist, I would suggest attempting the Soft Factory Reset as it can fix this issue.

Reset your console: Select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

Please let us know if you still have issues after the reset so that we can work on other solutions.

i was having the same problem too,

the solution for me was to go to Task Manager > Startup
and disable the Realtek HD Audio Universal Service and reboot

after that the error was gone.

Don't know why was causing such error.

OK My bad please remove post. I didn't realize there is no center channel present in the dashboard but once the game loads all 7 channels are receiving audio. I should have tested it with a game first but thought no center channel audio on startup was a
problem with overall audio for all applications.
