The money is showing on the kids account and yes I have to approve purchases. When we go to buy something with V-Bucks we are prompted for a password, which we enter. Then nothing happens as he only has 100 V-Bucks in his account. The issue is
getting the credit changed into V-Bucks.

Consumables like Fortnite V-Bucks have to be purchased by the account that is supposed to use them.

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer consumables to a different account. While it is possible to buy a game and some DLCs that your son can play thanks to the Home Console setting that shares your game purchases with the first console you set up with
your account, consumables can't be shared to a console.

Therefore your son can't see the V-Bucks in his account, as the V-Bucks are stored on your account, and not shared to the console.

In order to get your son V-Bucks, you would have to buy him a currency gift card, that your son then redeems, and with which he can then buy V-Bucks for himself.

Hi, I need your help... my son bought v-bucks without my authorisation 2 days ago. He made a 25 purchase in 1 morning and 1 more yesterday. Totally 26 times which £238.73. I discover this yesterday when I was going for food shopping and checked
mobile banking and saw no founds are available on my acc. I phone up to Microsoft straightaway and explain to them, they send me a email with refund request form, I fill it up and send it. I received confirmation of this which says that I should get and update
in 72hours. I am wondering that is there a chance I get this money back or I should not have a hope? Support team told me on the phone that because purchase is made by minor I will get refund but I read articles that v-buck purchases are not refundable . I
am really worried , I’ve left with no money at all. Plus I am upset because I had a “Needs adult approval to buy things” and “Email me when my child gets stuff” on, but I did not get notification to approve what he was buying. Pls any idea, pls help ....

Seems like the only option is to find someone who needs a game and gift it to them and get them to buy me a new gift card for the same amount to then redeem on my son's account.

Lots of people with the same problem on the forums, also people who have bought V-Bucks on the parent's account and then can't transfer them to the kids account ( glad I saw that before I made the same mistake).

Tried logging into x-box with my account and then logging into fortnite with my sons account to buy the v-bucks with my money but that isn't possible either as the fortnite account is locked to my son's login.

Thanks for your suggestions but looks like I will just have to ask around or wait to see if there is a game I can gift to him or a friend in the future.
