no 4k discs work on my xbox one x

i had my xbox one x

for a while and recently bought a few 4k blu rays starwars last jedi and deadpool and fast 8 and none of them will play I just get an error with this code 0xd0000189

Unable to play uhd blu rays on Xbox one x

Just bought planet earth II to show off my new Xbox one x 4k hdr movie capability.

Every time I put a uhd disc in I get disc not recognised error. Code 0x91d70000

Normal blu Ray and games work fine

Uninstalled and reinstalled blu Ray app, tried cleaning discs and continually ejecting and inserting no joy.

Had the discs checked and play fine in store

Also factory reset and format Xbox one x

XBOX ONE X Bluray Player and Dolby Atmos Problems

Anyone else have this problem ? I have erratic performance from the Bluray Player App on my new Xbox One X. Some 4k discs will not play at all. And some will play the audio, but only display a freeze frame view of video. (Examples: Man of Steel, Hancock,
Gravity, The Great Wall, Obilvion.)

So far, I have only found one 4k disc that will play properly (The Revenant). But weirdly, most non-4k discs will play,

Another issue is Dolby Atmos not working - either with games like Assassin's Creed Origins, or any Bluray recorded with Dolby Atmos. With Assassin's Creed, selecting Dolby Atmos gives me no sound at all. With Bluray discs, I either get no sound or plain
stereo. If I switch the Xbox One X back to DTS, then I get DTS output.

I have a LG B7P set and a Pioneer VSX90 receiver. I have tried connecting the the Xbox One X to the receiver, and also directly to the TV with the ARC passthrough back to the receiver. Either way, Dolby Atmos does not work.

Have you installed the blu-ray player app?

If you want to see a 4K Movies (streaming/disc) you will need to have a 4K TV. (With Xbox One S and X)

Also if you want to play a game on 4K the game need to be 4K compatible and a 4K TV (only with Xbox One X)

I saw it has HDMI 2.0B thingy on this site.

If say you connect an Xbox One X to your 4K HDTV, you should still be able to:

1. Download the YouTube and Netflix apps, onto your Xbox One X, and still be able to watch in 4k 60fps?

2. Use Xbox One X 4k Blu-ray player to watch 4k Blu-ray disc movies in 4k 60fps?

3. Play games on Xbox One X, in 4k 60fps?

i have the same problem. And i try to put a 4K disc in my Xbox one X but the application Blu-ray Disc freeze or say the disc is not supported ...

I believe that the Xbox One S can only do 4K through media, such as 4K blu-ray disc's / Netflix and so on,

If trying to play games at 4K, you need the Xbox One X.

Hi,

Can't tell you if this will work on your disc, but I had some luck with one of the Star Wars discs by either power cycling the console with 4K disc in or a few restarts until the disc works when you insert it.

To be honest, I gave up on the 4K player on the One X some time ago. I'm now using a Sony brand 4K player instead. Not the answer you want to hear I know, sorry.
