    Nintendo Switch > XBOX > Fortnite


    My children have had a nintendo switch a for few years ago (now age 10 & 12)

    last year we created an xbox/microsoft log in for Minecraft

    this year they have started playing fortnite on the switch and have "progress" and epic accounts created and linked to nintendo no issues

    my husband has just bought an xbox x and both girls would like to play on it using their "old" fornite accounts.

    looking this up i linked their xbox account to their epic accounts with no issue BUT this is not showing on fortnite

    can anyone please help?

    Fortnite is not available on the Xbox 360. It is only on Xbox One, PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

    Please note that Fortnite packs or items redeemed/purchased through the Microsoft website are for the Xbox console version of the game, not for Nintendo Switch. In this case, in order for the package to appear in Fortnite on your Nintendo Switch, you need to log in with your account on an Xbox console and open the game. This way, the content of the package will synchronize with your game on other platforms, including Nintendo Switch (provided that your Xbox and Epic Games accounts are linked). Please be aware that this policy is directly imposed by Fortnite and not by Xbox; it is a decision made by the Fortnite team.

    Xbox Live Gold for Fortnite

    But not for Fortnite because my friend has a Nintendo Switch and he doesn't need to pay the online subscription to play Fortnite for free.

    If I understood correctly, you have an Epic/Fortnite account linked right now to both Nintendo Switch and Xbox. If you play on Nintendo switch the progress for Fortnite appears and everything but not Xbox. Correct?

    If yes, try this for both accounts:

    First go to the Epic's account connection page > https://www.epicgames.com/account/connections > once there disconnect your Xbox account

    After that do this in your Xbox for both accounts:

    Highlight Fortnite, press the Menu button on your controller, then select Manage game & add-ons > Saved data and select "Delete locally / on this console"

    Finally link the accounts again and check if the progress appears

    Fortnite needs to be free to play without LIVE on xbox one

    The nintendo switch does NOT charge for playing fortnite online. It is a free to play service for that game as it was meant to be.
