Nintendo Switch microsoft account setup problem

I have bought a nintendo switch for my son. He got the Minecraft game for this and would like to play on different servers. It states that you need a microsoft account for this so we set one up to be managed by me. He is signed in to this in minecraft on
the switch, however it still says he cant play because of how the account is set up. It provides a web address to sort this problem which takes you to multiplayer settings for an xbox?? or a button to take you to a fix problem page, which when pressed says
the page cannot be displayed. I cant manage any settings or app permissions in his microsoft account - which it also says is necessary because his ninetendo switch is not showing as a device (therefore nothing shows in his account) and when I try to add it
you can only add an xbox or surface or accessories. Microsoft does give instructions for adding another kind of device which leads you right back to adding an xbox or surface!!!

Many others have asked this question on the internet but all with the same links to Xbox settings/remote connect etc with codes which we have done - does anyone have an answer that works or is it just not possible?

I have had this same issue before also, seems to be a problem on Microsofts side. You could try signing into his Microsoft account with your personal account, this can be done on the "family settings" on his account page (I believe). If you put in his
correct age when you created his account (it must be 17 years or younger for this issue to occur), he will be unable to play multiplayer or games rated "Mature" without you permission. The only other way that I know of to avoid this problem, is to just lie
about his age which I dont recommend. Or you could create a Microsoft account for yourself and let him use it.

I've never owned a switch but you might need to make a Xbox Live account as well which you can use the Microsoft account for. I'm not sure if this is true but the only ways I know of making one is on; a Xbox, the Xbox app, and the Xbox app for Windows 10.

Recently my account was compromised and connected to a random nintendo switch. Now I have no clue as to how to unlink the nintendo switch from my account as the only forums I've seen about this situation if you have access to the nintendo switch. I dont have access to the switch so how do I unlink the account from my Microsoft one?

The problem with unlinking this is gonna be the fact that its your Microsoft account is linked to the switch account and not the other way around.

The linking process starts on Nintendo's end. Therefore unlinking it would also have to be done from Nintendo's end.
