American McGee's Alice backward compatibility

American McGee's Alice is the add-on for Alice Madness Returns, and no it's not compatible yet. Keep an eye on the backward compatible page for updates to the list, you never know, it might become compatible in the next few months.

Xbox originals games come up with "the game couldn't start. try downloading again"

Some games just had an update that had to be downloaded, but it wasn't a specific backwards compatibility update. At this point, all consoles have the backwards compatibility update like dave said.

Are you referring to the next update of the list of games? If so, the Xbox Team announced that titles will no longer be "bunched up" for a group release of backwards compatibility. Games that are made BC will release as they become available to users. You
can always find out the latest information about the backwards compatibility program from
Major Nelson.

As Blitz says, they're no longer waiting to release lists in monthly batches; instead, backwards compatible games are made available as soon as they have completed testing and are ready.

In fact, a few new games were added just last week, including Grid 2 and the first Assassin's Creed.

New games are marked with "NEW" on the list, and at the top you can click the arrows next to NEW to bring all the new games to the top.

 

As would happen, more games got added today right after my last post, including Dark Souls:

dark souls is still not available. I got it with gwg and its not showing up in my ready to install list or in the 360 backwards compatibility section of the xbox one store. in fact a bunch of games are missing from the store including the other one from
today and the ones listed a couple weeks ago.

My Xbox One is already downloading Dark Souls (I checked after seeing your reply here), so that definitely sounds like a problem on your end. Please go ahead and create a new thread detailing your issue and which games are affected and we will assist you
there. It's better to keep different issues separate so as to more efficiently be able to assist everyone.

 

im not the only one. check major nelsons tweet. other people are complaining as well. I already bumped a dark souls thread in the backwards compatibility forum.
