Newer PC build hard freezing don't know what to narrow it down to?

Based on your description, you are having issues with your new built computer whenever you play a game, and it freezes from your end. We really appreciate your time and effort as well for trying to perform some steps to sort things out prior posting this issue with that.

You actually have the point that the error you got may cause due to a hardware issue however, we cannot determine which part of the hardware caused this. No worries, we will check and work on this together to sort things out in a timely manner.

To start, please see the following and try performing accordingly:

Solution 1: We will have to make sure that your Windows is up to date even the optional updates.

• To stay up to date, select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and then select Check for updates.
  
• If a feature update is available for your device, it will appear separately on the Windows Update page. To install it, select Download and install now.

Solution 2: We'll have to check if the issue is with the ports or the RAM itself.

• Check your RAM, remove it on your computer.
  
• Clean RAM using a brush/eraser of a pencil.
  
• Insert the RAM back to your computer and if possible, to insert it using different ports would be a great help to isolate the issue.
  

After doing all that, kindly proceed and check to see if the issue persists. If so, kindly proceed.

Solution 3: Try updating your device graphic drivers.

• In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager.
  
• Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to update.
  
• Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  
• Select Update Driver.
  
• If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.
  

Note: Make sure to select the latest driver applicable to your device.

Solution 4: Try reducing your games graphics resolution.

Some full-screen apps and video games can control and take over your system's resolution. It's common for video games to default to a resolution that's different from what your monitor requires to look sharp. If we set up a higher resolution rate on your game, make sure to lower the resolution as its usual for us to check. This will actually help your system detects if your graphics card can really acquire the amount of resolution that we set up before changing it earlier.

After doing all the steps, please let us know how it is going. We will anticipate your response to this.

There is no way i'd be able to narrow it down to one game.

It would be hard to narrow it down to Top 50 games.

Might be able to narrow it down to Top 20 Franchises.

Did you uninstall and reinstall? Are you using the internal hard drive or external?

What troubleshooting steps if any have you tried so far so we can narrow down steps that may help you?

Here are some steps to try for game freezes.

Kinect. Stick with 360 and probably building a pc for the newer games.
