Newbie XBox One S user

I just bought a XBox One S 500gb. I’m new to gaming consoles. I got forza Horizon 3 free with it. Now I’m trying to install it. I have 10MBPS stable broadband. I have few questions. Kindly help me out.

1. Downloading huge games takes long time. Can I pause an Installation and turning it off completely, and then turning it on next day and resume installation? Will this work?

2. If the game is installing and suddenly power goes off, does the installation resumes when when I turn it back on ?? I do not have instant power back up.

3. Which is a good UPS for Xbox One S and broadband modem + router?

Stupid Newbie Question

I'm a newbie with a stupid question. On the Xbox One S how do you exit games back to dashboard without turning off console. There has to be a button combination to push on the controller. Please Help

 

Pls Suggest games For xbox one newbie and single player

Hello Friends,

I am a newbie to xbox one. From the below list can anyone please suggest games that are good for newbie and also single player :

a) Call of Duty

b) Metal gear solid 5

c) Fallout 4

d) Gears of War

e) Titanfall

f) Any sniper game.

Again pls consider I am a newbie to xbox one and single player. I would highly appreciate any advice.

The answer to 1 and 2 is yes. I’m not sure what your 3 rd question is. Sorry.

Regarding a modem + router combo you'll want one that is AT LEAST as fast as your speed supplied by your ISP. I currently use a Netgear AC12000 that I bought new earlier this year and I love it.

 

1. Yes but if you use always-on mode when the Xbox goes into standby it will keep installing

3. Specing a UPS depends on power draw of the Xbox, Modem and Router and then you buy a big enough UPS for that.

 

Since the other questions are answered here's so info on #3

The majority of UPS devices out there will be handle the initial draw/load. The main question is how long are you looking to keep it running and is it going to be powering the TV during this time as well? There's a lot of variables including the TV. If it's
just long enough to wait a couple minutes to see if power is coming back on, and then powering down everything you likely could get by with a 600VA- 800VA UPS. If your intent is to be able to keep playing and finish the current match you're in, I would go
with a 1500VA, which is the most standard 15A electrical outlets can use. Some 1500VA UPS also have an option to add-in an additional battery if needed.

 

No worries if anything interrupts your download, the XBox will pick up right where it left off

As far as your router/modem, honestly anything provided by your ISP should be fine unless they use real junk in which case Linksys has always been good.

For 3, it really just depends.

 

To pause an installation, press the start button (The one with the lines) on the game you want to pause installing, from there, select pause installstion.

Yes, the games will resume installing once the Xbox is turned on and is connected to WiFi.

I don't know about the 3rd one, you should read other replys or look it up.

Yes, your Xbox will look after your downloads if anything happens to your connection. You can turn on auto-updates in the storage settings which will mean your games will update while offline, minimising your wait times.

 

Do you mean ISP on the 3rd question?
