1. Is getting gold in 3rd place the same as gold in 1st place?

2. I thought winning 8 race event = free car. Is that still a thing?

I want to have a death match where I can just free roam in cars, in buildings, with guns etc. So far I can only find weird death matches where you only have a knife / crowbar and it's tedious. Can somebody please advise how I find what I am looking for? Thanks

You don't get car rewards for completing career events in FM5.

Gold medals are awarded for 1st-3rd place. There is no reward difference between those places. Silver is 4-6, Bronze 7-9 (I think - something like that).

 

No more free cars for winning, also you cannot sell cars either, you just 'delete' them.

 

Gold is gold, silver is silver, and bronze is bronze. As long as you finish in the top three, you get gold, and it's all the same.

People had some trouble understanding the system, here. What players are used to is you have one goal - to finish in first place. If you didn't finish in first place, you are terrible and your whole race was a failure. This isn't realistic, however, and
in the real world great drivers don't always finish in first place. With FM5 there was a different approach, where the goal was to advance as far as you can through a field of cars and you're awarded gold, silver, or bronze based on how far up the pack you
got. You aren't actually meant to ever reach the front. Once you're up front you're no longer battling for positions and instead just hot-lapping with cars in the background behind you, and that's not what Turn 10 wanted. So, gold doesn't mean you won but
rather that you did a great job getting near the front, while silver is a good effort and bronze is a sort of "honorable mention."

Look at the current Formula One season, for example. The drivers generally regarded as the best are not leading the championship, either by not having a car capable of running out in front as in the cases of Alonso and Vettel, or by repeated misfortunes,
generally in the form of mechanical unreliability, as in the case of Lewis Hamilton. They're not winning all the races, but they're still the best. Failing to finish in first place or failing to lead the championship doesn't mean they're not great.

Lewis has had to start at the back or in pit lane twice this year due to mechanical failures during qualifying, and both times he worked through most of the field. Both times he failed to win, but he wasn't expected to win from the back. Getting near the
front was victory enough and a more impressive feat than starting out in front and staying there. His failure to win didn't change the fact that it was a terrific drive. In FM5, a terrific drive from the back to near the front gets credit for being a great
run (gold.)
