Newbie needs help

for some reason my assassins creed origins won’t launch. I get a black screen with the spinning triangle that reads loading for almost 40 minutes now. Can anyone help? The rest of the consuls apps and options are working fine. I need my gaming fix! I’m going
nuts! This is my first X-Box and I just hit the button on the consule to turn it off at night. Can that be the problem? Does this have to be shut down like any other computer?

Is it digital or a disc?

Did you hit the home button (big illuminated button on the center of your controller) and then highlight the game and “quit” it?

Also, if it still doesn’t work power cycle your console by holding the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it turns off. Turn it on and try again.

If none of that works uninstall the game and reinstall it.

When you say "turn on the socket," are you referring to a power strip/surge protector? I can tell you that the Xbox One cannot be plugged into a power strip and needs to be plugged directly into the wall. The reason is, the power brick for the xbox already
has a built-in surge protector, and plugging into another surge protector actually chokes the supply of power to the system. This can not only cause problems initially, but causes the system to work harder during startup, and can ultimately lead to components
failing.
