Acquiring a Game Pass subscription is not mandatory.
You should be able to see an option like “Not now” or if you press “B”, the message will disappear.

So, if you press the Xbox button and select “Home” you will be redirected to the dashboard.

However, I appreciate it if you could share a picture of the message/screen you see.

no... game details screen the X button brings me to. This is from the home screen btw.

And for the record, it's actually become faster to just double-tap your home-button and hit X or Y if you're trying to capture gameplay. But even that's a crap-shoot because it's a 50/50 on whether or not that brings up the "record/screen shot" menu, or
just takes you out of the game and back to the home-screen.

Same as before, hit home button twice. The snap menu comes up hit Y for screen shot X for record.

thanks for coming to the forums with your question. You can hit the Xbox button also called guide button on the controller. Will bring up a menu on left side, home will be highlighted. You can hit the A button on home to take you to the home screen, or you
can go down to the game you playing hit the start button one with 3 lines, go down to quit. This will take you to the home screen also.
