New xbox series 10 controller wont stay connected to my xbox one.

this happen to me as well it wont Connect / Sync / Pair Xbox One controller to Xbox One console or windows 10 i did all the guide's and this is my 10th controller im sick of buying new controller's im about to sell all this &%#@ and move to PS4, stop being
lazy and fix your dam controller

So I needed up hard wiring my xbox to my internet box. One of my old controllers I got to connect but my headset or my elite controller still wont connect and if I try to connect to wifi it wont. I have tried the hold the power button down for 10 seconds
and still nothing. The xbox I have is the halo 5 collector's edition.

Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

That's not quite right. Apologies for quoting you.

The Xbox 360 controller uses a proprietary wireless technology, it's not Bluetooth and the old adaptors won't work with a modern controller like the Xbox One or Series X|S controllers.

Unlike Xbox 360 wireless controllers, Xbox One and Series controllers can also be connected via USB cable. Old Xbox One controllers use Micro USB, Series Controllers are USB C.

To use an Xbox One/ Series controller via wireless on a PC and get basic functionality, all you need to do is connect the controller via Bluetooth. If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth then you'll need to buy a Bluetooth USB dongle, they're very cheap, less than $10. I'm from the UK and I connect my Series X controller to my PC via BT dongle I purchased from Amazon for about £5.

For extra wireless features you'll need the Xbox One Wireless Adaptor for Windows 10. Unfortunately, the official Microsoft branded adaptors are now quite rare.

Thanks for the reply. Interesting, I did not know that it was "wirelessly" connected while connected to a USB C Data Cord. As soon as I unplug, it stays disconnected (in sync mode the controller also keeps blinking then turns off). If this is right I don't know why I also can't sync any of my other Xbox controllers to the series X unless connected with a cord (works on an One X controller also, stops when unplugged). I don't know why the sync button (blinking) stopped operating all together.

I replaced my batteries and tried to pull and place back in earlier with no luck. I also updated the controller as I set up as new.

The interesting thing is I am able to use the series X controller perfectly on PC wirelessly with windows 10/Xbox PC adapter. I have no problems on PC wireless.
