new Xbox one will not recognize 360 games ON THE LIST

Just bought Xbox one yesterday and it will not recognize any backwards compatible game OR play the GOW game bundles that came with the $300 purchase. Very unhappy, especially at MS response ignoring my issue b/c I posted it originally on an “old” thread
of the same subject. Well obviously your product has problems and has had them for many years! Going to take it back to Best Buy b/c MS will not provide a solution and is more concerned with “locking an old thread” rather than addressing their product long
term shortfalls and problems. i would have never paid $300 for a white brick to sit next to my 360 if I knew MS had not figured out how to accommodate their existing long term customers. Seriously, i should just go with PS if MS has such abhorrent, rather
nonexistent, customer service. I’m forced to get service from a stupid bulletin board for a fundamental defect in their product. The only reason I bought the xbox one was for their represented compatibility. since they cant provide what thry say they can
then why woukd I continue this madness?

Thank you! That worked! FYI, the first thing I did when I unboxed the unit was to attempt to load the 360 games. I wouldn’t have thought that a factory reset was needed. Thanks for replying!

Thanks for reaching out for information through our Xbox Forums on this problem recognizing backwards compatible games. I understand any frustration you may have experienced while dealing with this issue.

We here on the Forums would love to see if we could help. If you don't mind me asking, what troubleshooting have you done so far?

In my experience, things like this have a habit of responding well to a soft factory reset of the console. I suggest giving that a shot after verifying that you have an
open NAT type, and have made sure that you know all the sign-in information for any important gamertags (as they will need to be redownloaded), by following the steps outlined in How
to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One and select the option to
reset and keep my games & apps.

When you get the chance, let us know what you have done and consider giving my troubleshooting step a shot.

I hsve an xbox one x and have no issues.

The key is to make sure you post the correct info for us to help you

Account region

Actual region

Console region

Console language

And disk or download

If disk it should be from the same region you are physically in

Account region and actual region and console language MUST be the same

This is why you dont post in an old thread as it never is the same you have to post info for yourself for us to walk you thru it rather then you trying a step that doesnt apply

And yes its thar important

If you do a random region migration it wont work it must be your actual region

And if your region isnt supported nothing will help with bc titles and fyi region migration is every 3months hence why you should never try someone elses troubleshooting

Im having this same problem! Ive seen so many other people with the problem aswell and the one thing we all have in common is they all just recently bought an Xbox one X.

What exactly is happening?

Where these codes that came with the console?

Have you put the codes in on the account that you want to own the games?

Where these discs that came with the console?

Did the console recognize the disc?

We would be more then glad to help you the best that we can if we had a little bit more information.

As far as old posts go it is always better to start your own post sometimes even if the post are not that old your problem may get lost in the other posters answers.
