New Xbox one user as of dec 8' 2014...Setup with A/V receiver.

i intend on using my xbox1 with a yamaha v-365 a/v receiver. If I am correct this is how it would be setup correctly.

1. hook the DTV box up to the Xbox and run the cable from the Xbox into the receiver.
   
2. run the cable from receiver into the TV
3. for audio from Xbox I would run the optical cable into the appropriate jack on the receiver.since my dtv box is digital coax I run the digital coax to the appropriate receiver input in order to receive dtv broadcast in Dolby digital.
   

please enlighten me if this is the correct procedure and will the Xbox 1 automatically switch between digital and coax inputs?

So let me get this straight... I have an A/V receiver, an Xbox 360, and a cable box. If I plug my cable box into an Xbox One, and then both the Xbox One AND my Xbox 360 into my A/V receiver and then my A/V receiver into my TV will I be able to turn my 360
on as well as my A/V receiver and TV with a voice command? I know this was pretty much answered with the comment that it can perform as a universal remote.. I just wanted to be specific about my current setup.

Hey A MasterThief. You don't need to connect the digital coax from your DTV to the Receiver unless you are also going to connect the DTV video to the receiver to watch TV without powering on your Xbox. So

1. HDMI out from DTV to HDMI in on Xbox
2. HDMI out from Xbox to an HDMI in on receiver
3. Optical out from Xbox to Optical in on receiver that matches the HDMI-in, or assign it to the one you used (not sure your received can do this or not)
   

This way the receiver gets all Dolby Digital audio from the Xbox, including TV, through the optical connection. This is the way I have mine set up. You could also just use the HDMI cables, with enabling the Beta option as described here Enabling Digital Surround Sound | Xbox One and
avoid the optical cable altogether.

Note that I also have component cables and optical from my DTV going straight to the receiver to bypass the Xbox for watching TV (picture degradation through the Xbox being the main reason, making it simpler for my wife the other). This is the only reason
I can think of why you would want to run an audio connection directly from the DTV box.
