    New Xbox One S has a strange sound


    I just bought an Xbox One S through Best Buy and got it in the mail yesterday. I set it up last night, and through some testing, there seems to be a crispy/sizzling sound coming from where you plug the power supply cord into the xbox. It happened as soon
    as I turned it on for the first time.

    it is not that loud, you have to be close to hear it, it gets a bit louder when the xbox is on. It doesn’t matter if the xbox is in power saving mode or not, the sound is still there. I don’t think it has anything to do with the main fan, it is pretty quiet,
    not silent though. And the air coming from the top ventilation is a bit hot.

    I would just like to know if these things are normal, or, even if they’re not, if they are a cause for concern. I just replaced my xbox360 that finally caved in, and I do not want the same thing happening to a console I just bought. Thanks for your time!

    I wouldn't risk anything to chance you never know when it could fail, I would give Best Buy a call and ask for a replacement console for sure.

    I've got and One S and never noticed such a noise as you discribed, you should check your console for a short circuit.
