New xbox gamertag “unacceptable” ?

I’m trying to change my gamertag after many years but for some reason it’s telling me that it isn’t allowed / that it’s unacceptable. The username I’m going for is and I’m having a really hard time figuring out what’s in acceptable about it. Gozaru is an old saying from Samurai which roughly translates to “I daresay” and dono is an old samurai honorific. Does anyone have any ideas? I’d really like to avoid adding any unnecessary spaces or numbers. I might get in contact with microsoft support about it

Unfortunately, Microsoft support will not be able to help with this as the Xbox safety team controls this. In addition to this, there is no way of contacting someone from the Xbox safety team.

It may be unacceptable due to the meaning or a historical event/person that may be triggering for others. While searching the name and breaking it down, the phrases seem OK, but the historical context may be the trigger. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this, but to recommend you choose another name to use on Xbox. My guess would be that your GT was changed because it was deemed unacceptable for some reason. The reason why it shows the current gamertag :eek:

ld gamertag is because the system is switching over to the new gamertag and needs to keep both gamertags for the
account during the switch over.

Whilst Microsoft have a large database of unsuitable gamertags, this is constantly changing. Words that years ago meant nothing are now seen as unacceptable. People also try to bypass the filters by using numbers and other characters to create unacceptable
tags.

It might be because of the word "Tube". It may be with inappropriate preferences, profanity etc.

You may need to contact 1800-4My-Xbox to see exactly why the gamertag Pomtube is unacceptable.

In future if you do not want to encounter this again, the best thing to do is not take the risk of picking a gamertag that not all, but some may find unacceptable.
