New Xbox Elite 2 Controller (Windows 10)

Howdy,

I was waiting for the new version to come out mainly because of rumors that the new one will have Bluetooth & USB-C port embedded.

It seems that Microsoft failed to do so, there are some companies like Canon which are always very late in bringing new technologies to their hardware, in this example cameras, still no any Canon camera has USB-C port nor SDXC UHS-II support, and we know
they are always behind all others in implementing such new technologies, it's their policy, but I remember that Microsoft was usually not like that, I remember the 1st USB-C hardware I bought was my Microsoft cell phone with IRIS scanner! But now in 2018 end
when the new Xbox Elite 2 Luxury Controller comes out we see that it does NOT have Bluetooth & USB-C which is really disappointing! The time I was waiting for the new controller wasted so far, and I am ordering the old Xbox One S White Controller with Bluetooth
support!

Xbox One controller broken by Windows Anniversary Update

My Xbox elite controller just stopped working yesterday on a recently purchased laptop but already had the anniversary update on it so I can't roll back to the previous version of Windows 10.

I've noticed now that in the device and printer section of the Control Panel I've got a Xbox 360 controller for Windows entry which isn't present on another version of Windows 10 install on my desktop PC so this laptop now has two entries the elite controller
and the Xbox 360 controller in Control Panel.If I disabled the Xbox 360 controller entry I get functionality on the elite controller but on a restart Windows the 360 controller reappears in Control Panel and in device manager.

Strange thing that for a week since I've had this new laptop everything was working fine in, now steam doesn't recognise the elite controller and windows hasn't done an update so how's this happened?

The Elite controller saves up to 2 configurations on the controller itself so the paddles should work with your configuration whether it's connected to your console or pc. You might of accidentally tapped the Sync button twice which disables the paddles
on the back.

Also you require the Xbox App in order to remap the Elite controller, it's available on Windows 10 which you can get for free if you have a legitimate version of Windows 7 or 8

I didn’t know Microsoft announced a successor to the Elite controller yet.

 

The white Elite controller is not an Elite V2, just a minor revision with new color.
