    New Xbox Controller Not Working on Xbox One


    I needed a new controller for my Xbox One and as I saw that the new controllers released with the Series S|X also worked with Xbox One I decided to purchase one of these, it worked fine for the first couple of days but now all of sudden it does not function
    at all.

    I can use the Xbox button on the controller to turn on my console but after that none of the buttons work, I cant even use the same button to turn off the console.

    It seems to still work fine on PC and I have updated the controller with the latest update using the Xbox Accessories app on PC. I have also tried plugging it into my Xbox via USB but still nothing works.

    Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any suggestions?

    It’s the newest Xbox controller.

    My old Xbox controller worked via a usb cable but this new one won’t.

    Xbox Series X|S controllers are fully compatible with the Xbox One, One S and One X. Also the Xbox One controllers work on the new Series consoles.

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have a question on controllers. Not sure if the controllers from the new Xbox will work on current ones. However, the controllers for Xbox one generation will work on the new Series S/X.
