New Xbox controller not registering basic headset - help please!

I've been at it for weeks now.

I have a basic Xbox One Chat headset that came with the console.

When plugged into my old original controller, the headset picks up and I can talk/hear.

When plugged into the brand new controller(s), the Xbox does NOT register my mic.

I thought it was the controller so I purchased another. Now I have two brand new xbox controllers that will not register my headset.

I've updated firmware

I've done full shutdown

I've done a full system reset

I've adjusted privacy settings

I've added brand new batteries

I've hard wired it to the console.

Please, please, please someone help me get this headset working on one of these brand new controllers (it works on the old, broken one!)

Have you tried to contact Xbox Support? They will help you. Your problem seems to be complicated.

Yes, I've been on with support. They don't have a way to resolve this.

They seem to tell me that the original headset that came with my Xbox does not work with my brand new Xbox Wireless controller.

Which means I'd need to purchase a new headset.

Anyone out there who can help?

Thank you for contacting the Xbox forum with your Headset question. Now if the headset is working on any other controller you have on the same Xbox console, then the issue may not be with your headset but with the controller itself. If you have a second
headset to test on that controller that would be helpful though working with what we have.

First, please what brand of headset are they and are they wired? If they are wired - do you hear anything, a crackling noise when you plug the headset into the controller via the port?

Second, can you please confirm the headset does work on other controllers?

And lastly did they stop working mid game or when you started a new day of gaming, basically you noticed they weren't working after turning on your xbox.

Some of the new consoles don't have headsets anymore.

the first xbox one came with a basic headset, 1 ear/speaker and a microfone.

the newer xbox one don't have the basic headset in the package.

a basic headset cost 15-20 euro/dollar.
