    This sounds like its a USB flash/thumb drive? Most of them these days are USB 3+. It should say on the packaging what it is. It might say on the device its self. What is the model of it?

    Probably it is not a USB 3.0, I would suggest obtaining a new USB 3.0, and trying with the new one if the issue persists.

    Ah, yes the new controllers use a USB-C connection. You'll need to find a USB-A to USB-C.
