New update broke my xbox series X.

I spoke with 2 xbox support persons, and they both exclaimed to me that it wasn't an isolated issue. That they had both been getting an increasing amount of calls/msgs about this same thing that happened to me with the new system update.

they had me power cycle. they had me reset my console. They had me update offline. Nothing has worked. I still keep getting this "Let's Update" screen for a 996mb update. That fails everytime. And puts me in an endless loop. At least before the woman had me reset the console.....i was still able to "skip & continue offline". And reach the home dashboard and get to the settings menu etc. It would just give me the update pop-up again if i connected to the internet. But now because i reset the console i can't even do that. I can't do anything but get to the trouble shoot screen.

One of the xbox support ppl told me i have to bring my console to Best Buy for repair. But what is there to repair. I have a perfectly working Xbox that had zero issue until i got a prompt for this new system update on Sep 13th. I am supposed to pay for the repair myself? What can they even do that i haven't done??

    :)

Hi. My name is Brilliant and I am happy to assist you today.

Apologies you have had to go through so much trouble and have no solution in place. Since a repair is what has been suggested to you, you can register your device and see if you have any warranty on it.

    To register device: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/warranty-service/register-your-product
    1. Go to account.microsoft.com/devices, sign in, and select Register device to continue.
    2. Enter your device's serial number to register it to your account.
    3. Select your device to see its warranty information.

If it's within warranty, repairs are free. If your device is out of warranty, you'll be charged a repair fee.

After you have registered you device, follow these steps:
    1. Sign in to the Device services site with your Microsoft account credentials: https://account.microsoft.com/devices/select-device-for-repair
    2. Select the device that you want repaired.
    3. Follow the onscreen steps to complete your service order request.

After Device services receives your submission, they'll send you a service order number and an order confirmation email that includes shipping or drop-off instructions.

You can find more details on getting your Xbox device serviced on this link: https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/warranty-service/getting-your-product-serviced

I really hope this helps get your console back in action.

i have the same issue.... So after an update all my purchased games are gone and none of the "menus" work - its like when I got to settings i see a 'gear' in the center of the screen and nothing else - i found out that none of the menus are working as i had to put it in "narrator mode" then go back on the black screen with gear in middle i use the controller to move around till i found out what i was looking for based -as the narrator would help find the hidden text menu -- but there is no way to fix anything as i cant see it - its just a black screen - this is unacceptable for a newer style console - sadly its out of warranty there should be a way to opt out of updates that break your perfectly working system. this sound like class action suit to me - i want my console fixed my kid is driving me crazy

BEST advice -- do a hard reset clear everything - then DISABLE AUTO updates and reinstall all games and apps

Yes I have the same issue the last update has left My series x unusable. As with you customer support told me to do all the resets and now I can't even sign in or use it at all I've basically got a useless brick which was working fine before this last update. Been told I have to take to a repair place and pay the costs. Very poor from Microsoft and not happy at all

I didn't get the new xbox dashboard

Hi there. I own an Xbox X series and an Xbox S series. The s series for about a week has had the new update but my X still is the old dashboard. How can I have 2 Xboxs in the same household with different updates going on. If an update is being launched it should be sent out to everyone at the exact same time globally. This doesn't even make sense.
