New to Xbox One and not been a great experience so far

Hello, im new to the forum and new to world world of xbox one. Having been away from games consoles for a few years, never having the time for online gaming I've bitten the bullet and purchase a brand new Xbox One S (Starting to regret it already). Purchase
Xbox and was delivered on Monday 8th of January, finished work eager to set it up and start playing. Console came with Forza Horizon, love my car games. My problem is after playing for 10 minutes or so it freezes, making like a stuck soft effect for a few
seconds then goes back to home screen, have tried switching off, removing power supply etc etc reboot console back into game all going well and then bang freezes again same stuck sound effect and back to home screen. So I thought hang maybe its a dodgy copy
of the game, no disk entered code and downloaded so I download a couple of free games i.e Minecraft (for kids) and Fortnite so went to play them and again after so long (no pattern to time) game freezes and goes back to home screen, this happens with both
Fortnite and Minecraft so you can imagine having only had the console for 5 days i'm not impressed. What can I do to sort this issue? or do I have to go through the hassle of contacting store and arranging return and replacement. Any help and suggestions
would be welcome because as it stands i'm starting to think I should have gone to the dark side (PS4)

Need everyone's opinion. GTA 5 or Far Cry 4?

"Far Cry 4" for the great new experience.

Another option is "Sleeping Dogs".

This is a GTA style game set in Hong Kong that reminded "GTA" how to be fun again.

Though the ONE version is a remastered 360 version it looks good, plays great and has all the DLC included.

Just finished it, wow is right. GREAT game. This is my favorite game so far by miles. Gotta love Lara. Did not experience one single glitch in the game. Great game, great story, great gameplay. Oh and it looked fantastic too!

 

Honestly, the best thing to do would be to contact the store for an exchange since it is still so new.

 

I thought the power supply on the S was built in.

You didn't open the console did you?

 

No I unplugged from mains to remove power supply as I was hoping it maybe was a system glitch when switching off i.e power saving / standby rather than actually completely going off
