New Series X cannot get Xbox 360 info

Got a new Series X this weekend, and have been installing games.

When I try to play Red Dead Redemption (disc), Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, Hydrophobia, Joyride Turbo (all digital), I get the "Getting your Xbox 360 info..." screen below, then a "Can't Sign In" error.

I can play Xbox One and Series X games perfectly well.

My son has the same issue on his account.

I've tried restarting.

I've tried resetting the console.

I've tried different accounts.

The Xbox help doesn't cover it.

Currently waiting for a callback from support. It's been 29 minutes of a projected 6 minute wait, so I'm not hopeful there.

I've seen other people have had a similar problem, but I've not seen a solution other than sending the console back.

Hi,

Most of times that I've seen this error it's down to your account info. The Xbox 360 emulator has issues with accounts with passwords that are either too long, contain special characters

#~{} for example) and spaces. Try changing your password. Make sure it is less than 11-12 characters, contains no spaces and no special characters.

Update: did a power cycle, as described in this video, and that fixed.

Also tried clearing local 360 storage and changing ports

Hi. Thanks for taking the time.

My password already meets these criteria.

I'm assuming that my Xbox 360 account password is the same as my MS Live account password: the email addresses are the same.

Microsoft doesn't have a solution for this problem or aren't willing to implement one... probably because it would be too much trouble for them.

I am hopeful that this problem fixes itself over time. Currently my Xbox Series X cannot get past the "getting your Xbox 360 info" screen.
