New release, old problems with Xbox One Controller

The xbox controller had a revision, they first release a version without the 3.5 jack...it's an old controller because the new ones have it. But you can buy an adapter for around 10 bucks.

Hm, with an old controller (came with Xbox one x) I never had a drift issue. I noticed it with a new one. But just slightly to the east and only in Borderlands 3. But, there is a problem, yes. So, I went back to the old one and no problems. (2 years old).
Not just the box, controllers, in general, are in bad shape all around. I hope that will be fixed with the new generation.

So to make this even more confusing to figure out. I just dug out my old xbox one s, fired it up and tested all the controller on
it. The old ones still work fine. The black one that came with the new xbox series x works fine. The new style white controller that come with the new xbox series s and the new style black controller bought today from best buy BOTH have the headset low volume
problem on my old xbox one s. Totally confused at this point.

Worth a try but I don't see it ever happening. By the time the new console gets released the old 360 controller will be considered old technology. It is possible third parties will step up to make a xbox one style controller that will work with the Xbox
360. It has happened before with the original xbox with 360 style like controllers. A third party company also may yet make an adapter that could possibly make the One controller backwards compatible with the 360.

Finally got a mic to work after four months, I fixed my problem by buying a new controller and headphone set .

It looks like the stock controller for the Xbox one had problems updating because as soon as I connected my new controller I had to update and it worked and i was able to hear and speak to people .

I tried all the steps below before buying the new controller and headset and they did not work, i believe it was because there was no update for my old stock controller or there was a problem updating it .

This is what I did :

1. Turned off the Xbox one by unplugging it from the wall .

2. Removed all parts of the charge and play kit out of the stock controller and put them into the new controller .

3. Connected the Xbox one back into the wall and switched it on .

4. Then updated the new controller .

5. Connected the new headset to the new controller and started up Call of Duty Black ops 3 .

The new controller I bought had the new 3.5mm connection, where as the old controller was stock and did not,

I think this might also be part of the problem .

The headset I bought were Kama Tritons with the 3.5mm connector and the old headset was the Xbox one stock headset .
