New regular Xbox controller refuses to stay on

The controller works fine when i plug it viz. USB. But once unplugged it refuses to even stay powered on. It blinks twice and turns off. I even tried using a new pair of batteries but it still refuses to be turned on.

same with me. Had to update controller and it loaded half way through then failed. Since then I have not been able to connect controller, even with charging cord. I have a regular 500 gb and 1 terabyte consoles which regular controller connects to, yet
the elite controller still refuses.

I picked up the Razer Ultimate Tournament Edition and now i refuse to use a regular controller. Having the extra paddles on the back are 100% a game changer.

We need to organize everyone in all the forums that are having the same issues and try to make a class action lawsuit against Microsoft for selling defective controllers to its consumers and not getting the proper solution to solve the issues. I refuse
to buy another elite series 2 this controller is 3 times the price of a regular controller and it's worst than the cheaper regular controller and the series 1.
