New Minecraft launcher is broken

When I try to sign in to my microsoft account on the new minecraft launcher, It logs me into my xbox account for it, which is normal. However, it then says when i selesct my account: COuldn't sign you in, an illegal state change was requested. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Yes, i can sign in to everything else. I just signed in to minecraft on my tablet today, actually. the issue is only winth the NEW minecraft launcher available on the Microsoft Store.

Please try this:

Press Windows key + X and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

Type or copy / past the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Wait until the command ends, after that restart your PC and verify (don’t worry if you see red messages, that’s normal)

If maybe that doesn’t work, try creating a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there

Are you receiving an error when you try reinstalling the launcher?
If that's the case, which one?

By the way, are you trying to install the launcher via Microsoft store?
If that's the case, use instead the Xbox app

And, please tell me which troubleshooting steps you have done so far to fix this, in that way I can advise you different things

If you are using the old launcher, it may not work. Download the new one here. Also note that you should have the latest version of Java on your computer. Download it here.
