New microsoft account issue

They fixed to to 12 a short while back. It did used to be 14-16 under the old naming convention.

Sorry but the character limits in gamertags are now fixed so you cannot create tags longer than 12

There isnt a way for you to make it longer but you couldntry shorten it so it still looks like what you want it to be

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issues signing into your Activision account. You will need to go to
Activision for this issue as it is their sign in. There is no way of changing this as both Microsoft accounts are not able to be merged. You could however create a new Activision
account with your new Microsoft email on your new account.

I had this email back today:

Your issue is occurring because currently there is not an active Parental Microsoft Account ID associated with your Child Microsoft Account and GamerTag. I will need you to create One.

We can correct this issue by associating a new Microsoft Account ID with your GamerTag.

You can create one at
http://accounts.live.com. By clicking "Sign up now" next to 'Don't have a Microsoft account?' they can either create an entirely new Microsoft Account, or make an existing email address their Microsoft account. Once they have created the new Microsoft account
ID, they will need to login at http://www.xbox.com to create a parental GamerTag.

Note: The new Parental Microsoft Account ID must be associated with a GamerTag.
