New Idea about Auto-Titans

Now everybody knows (or should know) that when you jump out of your Titan it goes into
Auto-Titan Mode and fights for you (or at least tries to). Once you get the
Guardian Chip which is a Tier 2 Kit it enhances your Auto Titans accuracy by a good bit.
BUT..... what it does not do is increase his brainpower. So no matter what, your Auto-Titan is doomed from the start regardless. Mind you they are great at taking on grunts, spectres, and even 1v1 Titan battles (sometimes), but when it gets
into a Multi-Titan battle it stands no chance at all.

So what I suggest is pretty simple( probable not in the way of game making but the concept is simple). This probable won't make its way into TitanFall but hopefully they add it to Titanfall 2

Basically the idea is this, Instead of "Auto-Titan Mode" Why not make it where you could either set it up yourself or have some preset modes for you to choose from. If you could do it yourself that would be better but there would be people
who would say it's not fair, so I say do it this way.

Defense Mode- (not to be confused with Guard mode)- would be an auto Titan Mode where your Titan would stay back and provide defense and in games of domination would automatically head to a hardpoint being capped and try to stop it or automatically
hone in on flag carriers in CTF. In normal games like pilot hunter and attrition he would follow you but stay far enough back to not be noticed first.





Offense Mode- would be a mode where your auto titan goes on the offense and moves ahead of you to clear out an area in hardpoint and runs to the enemy spwan in CTF and never backs down even in Multiple TvT battles. In pilot hunter and attrition
he would move forward shooting grunts and spectres mainly unless a pilot runs in front of him.

Melee Mode- would be a mode where your Titan would prioritize melee attacks and would utilize cover to sneak up on the enemy and pummel them.

Follow Mode 2.0 - Set your titan to either follow you ( as it already does) or set it to follow your buddies Titan into battle. No matter what this mode would always be sure to make sure your Titan is following close to either you or a friendly.

Guard Mode 2.0- In this mode it wouldn't face in the direction you were facing but instead would stand in the general area when you activate it and guard the area but would spin around and guard each direction. If engaged in battle with
either a pilot or a Titan it would never leave its guard zone only move around within it. He would prioritize more of a defensive role. The only exception to this rule would be if your Auto Titan saw a friendly Titan being attacked by another Titan he would
move in to help but then immediately move back to his guard zone.

Jack of All Modes- In this mode the auto Titan would take the best perks of each mode and (obviously be dumbed out a little to make it fair) and utilize them together to guard flags, or cap them, stop pilots from securing hardpoints and
cap them as well if able.

Each mode would be activated same as it is now by pressing down on the d-pad and you could have 2 to switch from for each Titan Loadout. Maybe even add a kit (kinda like guardian chip) but instead of increasing accuracy it would increase the titans brain
functions, that would tell it that it's overwhelmed and to find an exit strategy and not try to go toe to toe with 3 enemy Titans.

Like I said just an idea but I can't be the only one who thinks the Auto-Titans are a little to dumb for there own good. Kinda like the Big dude from that book Of Mice and Men, tough as all hell but didn't even know his left hand from his
right

Your Ideas about some new playlists

Protect the Titan - An auto Titan has to get from one side of the map to the other, one team has to escort the Titan while the other has to prevent it from reaching it's destination. The auto Titan is the only Titan in this game
mode.

That's the only playlist idea I have at the moment. I would like to see a fresh gamemode which has not been done in any FPS game.

 

Your "Do's and Dont's" for Titanfall 2

Bon I do better I auto titan my titan. But I think Sword will not be a fool to fall on that planned. He would tried killed me first before I trun on auto titan on.

 

I say there should be no "auto" mode at all. Make the player "play" the game.

Auto Titan is no fun , jump in and wreak havoc .

 

I hate auto-titaning in attrition. Unless you call it in a sea of grunts, odds are it gets destroyed before getting you the 5 points it gives the other team. In other modes though, they serve a purpose. As nice as it would seem if they gave the AT's a brain,
it would throw some of the balance into question. I do like the idea of adding a third mode, attack mode (or offense mode as the OP called it). You have guard, which immobilizes the titan, follow mode (self explanatory)... why not let your AT just go do whatever
it wants?

 

Yea I agree I don't think the auto titan should be as smart as if it were with you in it. But I also think that it shouldn't be as dumb as a grunt either. There needs to be a happy medium we can reach.

How about Recon Mode? Whereas your titan would run around the map and "paint" enemy titans for you and then attack them when your pressed down on the D-Pad

 

^^I like the "UAV" assist idea for a Titan, but not the "attacking". Games play too much for people already, heck, all campaigns are just cut scenes too.

I think hacking the AI gets this effect too?
