New Hard Disk for XBOX One

Hello friends. I've got a question. I was wondering if is it possible to change my XBOX ONE's hard disk for a 2tb SSD in a way that I don't void my console's warranty, does anyone know it?

If it is possible, how do I do it?

Xbox one to Xbox one x

Hi! I have a Xbox one and going to upgrade to Xbox one x. I using external Hard disk for the game . Can I just plug in the external hard disk to Xbox one x and everything will be work? Game and profile everythjng?

 

Can you not switch Xbox one hard drives or disk drives from one console to the other?

My Xbox One disk drive wasn't working properly so I bought a new Xbox one but didn't want to re download all my stuff so took my old hard drive out and put it in my new Xbox one but then it didn't work it came on but after the green Xbox screen it just went
blank it would play games and disk but wouldn't go home so then I just took out the new disk drive and put it and my old hard drive back in my old Xbox it worked and went to the home screen but the new disk drive in the old xbox wont play games it just will
play blu rays I don't know what's going on can you not switch parts from one Xbox to the other or something and also the reason I got a new one was cause my old one when I put a disk in every now and then it would say disk not recognized put in a bluray xbox
one game or cd but they where blu rays or xbox one games I could get it to work but had to jam the disk in there all fast. Is there a way I can just fix the old disk drive so I don't have to switch any parts.

 

No, you can't open the console and replace the drive without voiding the warranty.

Why don't you just add an external HDD. It just has to be at least 256 GB and USB 3.0. That is much easier than replacing the internal drive.

 

A pitty, a SSD is much faster than an external HD.

 

EL GIESTAS, Hello my User Name is pSyam (sam), There are a couple of 2TB SSD's out there now on the market. But wait until fall 2016. Oct.-Nov. When more companies have the same product and then the price will drop. I've heard some bad things about seagate
though, So maybe someone else can voice their opinion about seagate, Anyone? pSyam.

 

But, is it easy to change the HD for this SSD? I have no clue how is it done!

 

EL GIESTAS--A SSD might be faster than an external HD but the external ones are easier to install. You just plug and play and they are relatively cheap these days. I use a 2TB Seagate external HD for my Xbox 360 and an 8 TB Seagate external HD for my Xbox
One and have had no problems with either. You just plug them in, let your system reformat them to use on your system of choice and 20 seconds or so later you can start saying games, apps and anything else you want to them.

And to echo Genesis1953, there's still no way to open your Xbox One to install a new HD without voiding your warranty.

 

Not only will it void your warranty but if you ever have to send it in for repair Microsoft will not repair it warranty or not.
