    New guide update is confusing for settings and power options


    First i'll say that I like how the new guide has sorted out parties and chats into one concise menu as a social tab where you can invite friends to parties and chat with them, great I personally like that!

    Now onto what doesn't work in my opinion... In the previous guide menu it was clear that the settings gear icon was for system options and contained appropriately placed options such as xbox assist & restart console. By putting settings and power options under your profile icon it makes it confusing because a user does not expect to go under their profile pic to find the option to shut down console or change volume as there's no IMMEDIATE indication from the look of your profile pic that this is where you will find the settings menu.

    The below post by user u/JKiiK_ makes it clear why it is confusing as they ask "where can I change my headset volume" they don't bother looking under their profile pic because it doesn't imply this menu will contain settings immediately. Please revert settings to be under a gear icon as previously they were as it was concise and did exactly what a gear icon implies, a settings menu.

    Another feedback I had was to enhance the options under your profile tab, include a quick link to customize avatar, customize gamerpic, jump to your screenshots and clips, look at your microsoft rewards balance.

    Why is games on demand so expensive when using microsoft points system on the same hard drive?

    I think I have solved it.

    In the new update there is a new setting. In settings under TV & One Guide, Audo & Video, make sure the refresh rate for HDMI is set to 50mhz. Its a bit confusing as there is also another similar setting under 'Display & Sound'. I guess just make them both
    50mhz and it should solve this issue for most.

    Have you gone into the settings and turned the option on? I believe its either under the tv and guide settings or the power settings.

    Please make sure that your auto-update setting is turned on

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.
    Under Updates, select Keep my console up to date to update your console automatically and Keep my games & apps up to date to update games and apps automatically.

    On your power options, you choose the Shutdown option or customize it to support automatic updates of your games and apps when not in used.

    Have you checked for possible updates?

    Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.

    If you see Update available, there’s an update you need to install.

    After you’re done installing the update, go back to Settings and select System > Storage devices. See if your device appears in the list.

    If that does not work adjust the power management for storage if you are in sleep mode

    Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power options.

    Confirm that your power mode is set to Sleep.

    Unselect the option When Xbox is off, turn off storage.

    Restart your Xbox, and then go back to Settings and select System > Storage to see if your device now appears in the list.
