    Why is it that any disc game put into the console has to be downloaded before it can be played.? And it takes too long. Is there a way to play our games without having them download to the xbox

    Games being downloaded before being able to play it has been something going on for over 10 years from my knowledge, and it also included with digital games. This is so that the game can be saved on your systems memory.

    Because disc media is far far too slow to play these games. PC users have been installing their games for 25 years or more.

    If you have a new Series console then the discs have standard Xbox One versions on them, and the Series specific version must be downloaded from the internet to see the benefits of their increased power.
