New firmware 5.11.3118.0 for Xbox One 1708 controller

The updates are rolled out slowly to all users, and usually aren't available for everyone at the same time. You should be able to update your controller in the near future using the Xbox Accessories app on Windows.

im on firmware 5.11.3118.0 for xboxc series S controller - latest, been on for weeks, before the problems with constantly disconnecting & reconnecting to the console after the latest console update about 2 weeks ago.

tried the controller firmware rollback via xbox assist, when you check the firmware it just says something went wrong - its on the latest firmware.......

I have two black xbox one controllers model 1708 on firmware 5.11.3118.0, whenever i connect these controllers to my windows 10 machine (which is also fully up to date, on 21H1, OS build 19043.1348) via bluetooth they do not fully work, things seem to work using steam but i cant use the controller anywhere else and the guide button on the controller will not pull up gamebar, however when i plug the controller in via USB... EVERYTHING works perfectly and i can even pull the gamebar up on the desktop, i have searched and searched and cannot seem to find any explanation or way to fix this, i gave up awhile ago and just accepted i will never have a proper experience without a usb cable

And then one day, a buddy of mine who has a red xbox one controller model 1708 firmware version: 4.8.1923.0, connected his controller to my machine and his works like its wired!!! WHAT!

When i check in device manager for the bluetooth driver version, his shows up as 10.0.19041.1320

When i check my black controllers driver version it shows up as 10.0.19041.488, i selected “update driver” and it tells me i have the latest driver

updating his controller would tell me if something was somehow different about his red 1708 controller than my two black 1708 controllers but he doesn’t want me to update it after seeing this so i’m out of luck on that

So, here i am reaching out for assistance cuz I’m pulling my hair out at this point

Edit: I’ve discovered later this same day that my black controller also does not work on a fully updated Steam Link on iOS 13.3, but my friends same red controller does work.... i cannot express how incredibly astronomically frustrating this is, i will probably never update my xbox controllers ever again at this rate

my controller has the same problem but it wont work on usb and xbox accessories dont pick up that its connected via bluetooth

Im using it through installation but its not getting reconised by my pc. The controller alone works fine with my xbox however its working on my pc. Its the 1708 Model controller which is not working but my other one is also a 1708 Model but it is beeing recoised by my pc.
