new controller and new headset but still no mic i can hears others but they cant hear me

just last week my headset decided to crap out on me and stop working. I can hear others but they cant hear me. ive had my console and controller for over 2 years now so I figured a new headset and new controller would fix the problem but it didn't. ive
checked all my settings and my net work even did a console reset and even a console power up as well as sync the new controller and headset but still no mic at all I went into device and settings got to the screen where I shows the headset I clicked that saw
the firmware update and couple other bars but they were all gray I couldn't do anything with them. ive update the controller as well and that didn't do it. I hope I don't have to buy a new console just to get the mic to work I don't have the money as of
now to do that. need help etc please

Preview dashboard . Microphone disconnects party chat from headphones.

Just got the new preview dashboard . If im in a party with headset on people can hear me but I cant hear them . If I disconnect the mic only I can hear them but they cant hear me. hand controller is upto date with its updates .

Whenever im in a party i can hear everyone perfectly but they cant hear me, Sometimes they say they hear static , Got new controller and headset but am still having same problems

 

Check your NAT setting and your Friends NAT setting Xbox One NAT Error | NAT Type Help this link will explain what happens with communications
with the different NAT settings.

I would also check have your friend check your profile setting on your xbox. I had a similar issue with a friend where I could hear him but he could not hear me and found I had muted him.

Another thing to check out is the compatibility of the headset:

Connecting Compatible Headsets | Xbox One

If you are using an OMTP headset (see the link for an explanation of this) the earphones will work but the microphone will not. Let us know if you're still having trouble after these fixes.

the network and nat settings are all open and fine its more of this style of headset its just the basic usb plug in kind it doesn't function the way it should when I hit the mute button in party chat it doesn't mute me I have to hit one of the mute buttons
on the controller while in party chat for it to mute me so im thinking with the reset update it caused something to go wrong for that time of headset but luckily I have the 3.5mm port for a headset that I just need to try it out
