    The new Amazon video app has loads of bad changes that I think Microsoft should try and sort out with them. I've tried contacting Amazon directly, but their support group is not able to understand issues with the app.

    • The video controls don't make any sense. If you fast forward using the controller, there's no single key press to play the video again... you have to move the selector around to press play. This is crazy. Pressing 'a' or 'x' should always play the video
      again.
    • Why they don't use the same 'x' key that always plays and pauses the video as the Bluray player does I don't know.
    • There's no fast navigation using the bumpers or triggers in the app.
    • Pressing the right bumper, which would normally be fast navigation, adds and removes things from your watchlist! Who designed these controls? That's a crazy move. Do apps not go through any certification these days? All video apps should be persuaded to
      use the same control scheme.
    • If you're scrolling through a list of films, and you want to go back to the start of the list and there's no fast navigation, you have to keep pressing left. If you press left one more time than required, it very slowly takes you back to the home screen.
      This is also crazy... why not just use the back button ('b') like every other app?
    • I've had issues with video quality switching between what looks like the top two qualities.. which never used to happen. It happens frequently enough to be distracting. Until now, I've had zero issues with the video quality for ages.

    I loved the old app - one of the best video apps on the Xbox - and while I can understand them changing it to be more inline with their other apps (at least I'm assuming that's why they've changed it like this), they need to make the app as functional as
    the old one, and in keeping with how apps work on the Xbox.

    Just noticed there is a new Amazon video app on there. Amazon video UK. Anybody know if there is any benefits to this new app?

    Amazon Instant Video shows any films purchased through Amazon and any Amazon Prime content.

    Xbox doesn't have a Prime App, rather Xbox Video which only shows films and shows purchased through Xbox Store.

    If films/shows purchased from Amazon aren't showing in Amazon Instant Video app you will need to contact Amazon Customer Support to verify your purchases.

    Remember, Amazon Prime content changes so they remove films/shows periodically and add new ones. Amazon Instant Video purchases remain all the time.

  5. Thanks for the response Mister Maka. I have tried talking to Amazon, but their normal support people are a bit clueless when it comes to the Xbox App. I was hoping you guys might have better contacts to talk to them about these issues.

  6. I'll also add to the list of issues that the "App Channels" for Amazon video have disappeared, so you don't see them in the guide (and on the main dash tab). They used to be supported on the old app New Amazon Video App issues :(.

    I'll also add to the list of issues that the "App Channels" for Amazon video have disappeared, so you don't see them in the guide (and on the main dash tab). They used to be supported on the old app :(.

    It appears that Amazon does have an app for the Xbox 360 according to the FAQs regarding this question.

    Install the Amazon Instant Video app

    1. From Xbox Home, go to Apps, and then select Browse Apps.
    2. Browse or search for Amazon.
    3. Select Amazon to download the app. Once downloaded, the Amazon Instant Video app automatically starts.
    To start Amazon Instant Video later, go to Video, My Video Apps, and then select Amazon.
