    New account with blocked messaging


    Hi, i have set up a new account for my son as he Is asking if he can add his friends to my gamer tag so decided to set him up his own. I set it up on lockdown and added it to the family account, then adjusted it so that he could invite his friend, I showed
    him how to send the friends request which worked fine. Today I tried to show him how he could send a message, when trying to send the message a alert appeared saying that we were not allowed to send messages due to previous conduct.

    Since opening the count he has only played on two games, Disney infinity and minecraft, both were played offline only, as you can understand I have no idea why he is not allowed to message as it is a brand new account with very minimal activity. I am perplexed
    as to why it would affectively ban him from sending messages when he has never sent a message before, I can only preseume that this is a mistake by Microsoft or that I have done something wrong in the set up of the account.

    Could anyone shed any light on why this might happen and how to rectify? Thx in advance

    This should definitely be reported. Yes, you should take steps to protect yourself, like getting a new IP address and setting up a new user account, but report the activity to Microsoft. It will most likely result in a ban for this member, which he can set up a new account with a new name and IP, but maybe you can block him? If you find out how to block him, then you can just keep blocking every time they send you something. If hes just sending you messages just delete, report and ignore.

    New to Xbox live getting blocked messages notice but have never messaged on Xbox before??

    hi guys I'm new to Xbox live have never messaged on here before have just started playing online and when I try messaging friend I get a message saying I am blocked from messaging how do I get unblocked ?

    I dated this man for a few months and broke up with him, and blocked him on everything. He had three xbox accounts so i blocked all three. Since then he has created several new accounts and continues to message me. I have some where around 10 accounts
    blocked from him, including one of his friends that he was messaging me on. Is there anything i can do or do i have to continue to just block every new account me makes?
    Beyond blocking new accounts, you should contact local law enforcement. You may want to consider reporting this to prevent this or other forms of harassment.

    Blocking a player

    Once Blocked a Profile cannot send you Messages. That is unless your son (or whoever) is Unblocking that Profile by sending Messages back or Unblocking it.

    Block a Profile and do not send it any Messages and it will remain Blocked forever. If they make a new Profile and send a new Message, Block again. It's a lot easier to hit one button to Block then it is to create a Profile.

    update- all accounts on this console will not work. I created a new account and downloaded a friends and I am getting the same message every time. It will not let me play on Xbox live and it will not allow me to send messages. Even on the new account
    it says due to past behavior you cannot send messages? Is my console blocked or something?

    I block communications but he keeps making new gamertags every few days. Silver accounts can send messages too. I've blocked what feels like a hundred different gamertags of his.
