Never ever buy gift cards

The gift cards are next to useless! Each time I try to use them there is a problem, this time I tried to use my credit to purchase XBOX LIVE. Nope its apparently in the rules and policy that my gift card credit can't be used for that even though the
XBOX store sells the Live Gold subscriptions. Its only good for over priced digital games or over priced digital music. No where in their promotional advertising do they tell you about all the restrictions attached to their useless cards.

You've never been able to buy live with gift/currency cards.

 

Live Gold

The only way you have ever been able to buy Gold has been with either a Credit Card/Paypal or with a prepaid gold subscription cards. You have never been able to use account currency or points. Sorry.

 

With a giftcard, they'll sale you a game/movie/music. But for XBL via the marketplace, they want your CC/Debit/Paypal. Don't give it to them.

Best just to buy a XBL Gold card (cash, not CC etc) and enjoy.

 

TBH never had a problem with their cards. I love them as gifts. As for overpriced digital games, depends on the game. Sometimes it's a lot cheaper to buy digital.

 

I bought Battelfield Hardline digitally for €5. It's still marked at 25 in stores. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy digitally.

 

Digital games are about 98% overpriced.

There are occassions where you might get an old title nobody is really playing anymore but you've still probably paid more than full new game store price for that game with all your other digital transactions.

 

that is all perspective, 95% of my 217 games are digital. i pay for convenience.

 

Go to G2A.com or cdkeys.com to purchase with giftcard at a better bargain i too had problems using visa giftcards but I started to use prepaid, yes you do pay a fee of $5 but it's worth it because putting money in is easy but do cancel it after 1 year and
get a new one.
