Network issues/multiplayer issues

I have had my xbox one S a few months now, and have been playing without much issues during this time. Two days ago, after a minor game update, i can no longer play COD WWII online with my friends: i get a cannot connect to host error.

I looked at the issue, and the most likely cause was a nat issue, as both myself and the friend in question have rather decent internet.

I checked network settings, and saw that my NAT Type was set to moderate. I figured i should set it to open, make things easier right? well the internet says to do this i simply click "Test NAT Type" and go from there?? well when i click "Test NAT Type"
i get the error message: "your network isnt set up."

odd. so i go through Xbox's own support troubleshooting guide. Test network connection: Good. Test multiplayer connection: NO good. When prompted to select which error message i am getting, in order to proceed with troubleshooting, xbox support gives me
every option besides "your network isnt set up."

flipping lovely. So xbox support cant even help sort out their own problems, how can i fix something using a troubleshooting guide when there is no actual support for my specific issue!

So here i am turning to the community to pick up where microsoft left me out to dry.

for the network itself- We will used a random name, but the info i see under "current Network Status" looks something like this:

IPv4

NAT Type: Moderate

Double NAT Detected

xbox.com/xboxone/DoubleNAT

All services are available.

edit: also important to note- No reset has been performed on the router or modem. They have not been disconnected, or replaced anytime recently. They have not been touched, so i find it unlikely anything has changed in the last couple days relating to these
devices.

This is also the first and so far only time, and only game, and only platform that i have had any sort of issue with connectivity. My xbox 360 never did, my pc never does. Last night after failing to join a game- or failing to have them join mine- about
50 times, i went onto my PC and played the division. and payday. and WOT. and war thunder. all online trouble free.

so what am i missing, what needs to be fixed, and why did this issue only start now? Thanks.

Connection issue to the division

Hi there!

When running into connection issues to a Game server we recommend following all the steps on the

Multiplayer issues guide.

If you do not see any changes please post back with photos of your network settings screen and detailed network stats.

To be sure did you run into this issue with any other games?

 

Network Issues

I dont know an exact fix for the cant join party issue, but one thing Ive learned to do is create a party and set the invites to public so that way my friends can just hop in without an invite.
