Netgear: Xbox One is saying NAT is strict. Also states it's using IPv4 now instead of both.

Instead of Port Forwarding, could you try reserve an IP for you Xbox with DHCP reservation and put that reserved address into DMZ. Follow the steps listed under Netgear DG834:

modem is Motorola 3360

router is Netgear wndr3400v2

only 1 xbox one console connected

currently wireless but have tried both

I have tried setting a static IP address and opening the required ports with no luck.

UPnP is turned on

It shows strict NAT

ISP is AT&T

Perform a network test from your xbox console. If you get IPV4 that means strict NAT and you need to upgrade to IPV6.

For info on upgrading your connection contact your ISP

Not all IPv4 connections are strict and even if the NAT type is strict it can be opened. - There is no need to upgrade to IPv6

First thing to check is what your NAT state is, by going into Settings-Network.

NAT should say OPEN, if it says Strict or Moderate, you should setup your router/modem to open the ports needed by the console. I'll give you a link to that when you check the status of your NAT.

Have you also tried to use Wired instead of Wireless, if not, try that and see if anything changes.

Im also looking for a decnt router to take over from my virgin media superhub2, as we ran into strict NAT problems when connecting both our xbox ones (one is open the other is strict) - a common problem on the forums I've looked at..... I'm considering the
