    Change Wireless Mode

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open web browser.
    3. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    4. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. The default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    5. Select Wireless settings from the left hand menu under Setup.
    6. Select from the mode drop down "Up to 54Mbps".
    7. Click Apply.

    If you're able to change the wireless mode to 150mbps, that's not the correct model number for your netgear router.

    Really Slow downloads?

    It is connected to a xfinity docsis 3.0 modem. The wireless mode is turned off on the modem. It is in bridge mode B/C I am using the netgear instead.

    Appreciate if you could post up the make and model of your modem.

    Visit Netgear website and make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

    Which wireless mode have you setup for your Netgear router?

    Do you use WPA2-PSK AES only, or mixed with TKIP?

    Could you manually change the wireless channel for the 5 Ghz band, if this is set to auto. The listed channels should be within the non-overlapping range.
