    Login Information

    Change Wireless Channel

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an Ethernet cable.
    2. Open web browser.
    3. Login to router by entering http://routerlogin.net in to the address bar or by entering the default gateway IP address.
    4. The router will then prompt you to enter the user name and password. The default user name and password are: "admin", "password".
    5. Select Wireless settings from the left hand menu under Setup.
    6. From the drop down menu labeled Channel select the desired channel. (Channels 1,3,9,11).
    7. Click Apply.

    Login Information:

    • Default Gateway - 192.168.0.1
    • Username – admin
    • Password – password



    Change Wireless Channel



    1. Login to the router by entering 192.168.0.1 in to the address bar.
    2. Enter the username “admin” and the password “password”.
    3. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    4. From the drop down menu labeled Channel select the desired channel. (Channels 1,3,9,11)
    5. Click Apply.

    If you have problems sustaining a connection using wireless then the best and first thing you should do is to change the wireless channel. You should do this even if other devices like laptops or mobile phones are working fine.

    To do this you need to log into your routers settings. With a netgear router you do this by typing 192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your web browser. Find the wireless settings and change the channel. The main channels are 1, 6 or 11. So if you are channel
    1 then try channel 6 or 11. If that fails try channels inbetween.

    Visit Netgear website and make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

    Which wireless mode have you setup for your Netgear router?

    Do you use WPA2-PSK AES only, or mixed with TKIP?

    Could you manually change the wireless channel for the 5 Ghz band, if this is set to auto. The listed channels should be within the non-overlapping range.

    Try change the wireless channel on your router to 11.

    Visit Netgear website and make sure you have the very latest version of firmware for your router.

    Slow Download speeds on xbox

    Try changing the wifi channel.

    Last time i had slow download speeds on xbox when other devices worked fine I was able to fix it by changing wifi channel.

    You can do that by going into the routers settings finding the wireless settings then changing the channel.

    The primary channels are 1, 6 and 11 but you can also use channels inbetween if they are not any better.

    Getting into the routers settings varies by brand but if you have a netgear you can usually access them by typing 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your web browser.
