    My Xbox gets disconnected every 5 minutes or so from live

    Well that is a decent router, have you tried updating it to the latest firmware (check the Netgear website to see which is the latest) and then ensure UPnP is enabled (no port forwarding setup) and your Xbox ip address set to auto

    Also ensure your WAN Setup on the Netgear is set to "NAT Filtering Open"

    Since Netgear have multiple routers in the N600-series, could you post up the model number for your specific Netgear N600.

    Also, visit Netgear website and make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

    Make sure you've setup and configured wireless settings manually for your router and not with the help of a setup wizard.

    Could you also verify that your TG862 has been setup properly to operate in bridge mode. This mode should have been configured by your ISP (from their end).
