Netflix makes my Xbox 360 Freeze

    Netflix makes my Xbox 360 Freeze


    Netflix does not like to load on my Xbox 360 console. Probably about 95% of the time, I'll press on the app and will be greeted with a black screen indefinitely. The Xbox completely crashes and I have to pull the plug out and restart it. There's that odd chance that the app will randomly load without issue but it's very rare. Does anybody know what i can do to make the app work all the time?

    Here's what I've tried:

    Clearing the system cache. (a countless amount of times)

    Uninstalling the netflix app plus all its files and reinstalling it. (Only usually works once and sometimes doesnt even work)

    Transferring the app to external storage. (Does the same thing)

    I've even tried formatting the HDD and doing a full factory reset by getting the reset code and entering it on the console info screen which was absolutely no help.

    I have an Xbox 360 Elite manufactured on 4th October 2009 if that helps.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    why is it that i can no longer get netflix to open on my xbox 360 and when i click on the app my xbox 360 freezes up and have to turn it off to reboot it
    If you haven't already, please remove the Netflix app. Here's how: https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23008

    You may also make sure to clear your Xbox 360 system cache.

    NetFlix Update Issues

    Hello,

    I recently (within the past week) started having this exact problem with my xbox 360. Most (not all) of the time, the xbox freezes up when loading the second episode when Netflix is on auto-play. The freeze always happens at 1% loaded.

    Hopefully this is being resolved.

    Constant Freezing After Attempting to Update Netflix

    Today is the third time this has happened to me in the past 2-3 months. Each time Netflix requires an update, the Xbox freezes. I have now spoken with 5-6 support people at Xbox. Everyone has a different opinion, and no one has been able to fix it. I have
    spent more hours with support that I have watching Netflix. The Xbox 360 just has technical flaws that make it not work with Netflix. I am finally frustrated enough to realize that Xbox isn't worth the fee if the primary use is not gaming.

    If your XBOX 360 is freezing up try the solutions listed here.

    These problems are not because of the system update as I have 4 XBOX 360 consoles in the household all used for different things (Netflix, Gaming, etc) and all of them are working fine, some range as old as early late 2006, early 2007 and newest is 2012 Gears
    of War 3 console.

    Sorry to hear you're having issues with your console freezing.

    • Does the console only freeze when you try to play games?
    • Does it freeze it you use an app (Youtube, Netflix, etc.) or if you're just on the dashboard?

    If you're still getting freezes and have tried the
    Screen Freeze troubleshooter    , I'm sorry to say but it sounds like your console may need to be to be Sent in for a repair. Submitting an online repair request is the fastest
    and least expensive way to get your console repaired.
