    Neither remote play nor the cloud streaming works in the Xbox App


    After reinstalling Windows, the remote play in the Xbox application stopped working. Both the cloud streaming and streaming from my Xbox Series X console end up in the same state where the app is almost completely black, except the minimize, maximize and close buttons on the top right corner.

    I have tested:

    - Reinstalling xbox app

    - Reinstalling gaming services

    - Insider build of xbox app

    - On two different machines (Android app and Surface Go tablet) the streaming from my xbox works

    - Xbox is always turned on before I try connecting to it

    - I updated from Windows 10 to 11 (no help from that)

    - I tested different network connection (my 4G connection on phone) (did not help)

    - Everything is updated from Windows update

    - Tried restarting Gaming Services

    When clicking the close button, I get the following:

    but "Quit the game" option does nothing.

    Possibly related, the "recently played list" does not load on Cloud Gaming panel at all:

    My PC:

    - Windows 11 Pro

    - AMD Ryzen 5900X

    - Asus X570 motherboard

    - Sapphire Radeon 7900 XTX

    - 2 * m.2 nvme drives (one of which has the Windows installation)

    - 2 * SATA SSD drives

    There is no error message in Xbox app itself.

    No rocket ship animation either.

    Well, just after I posted this, I happened to read something in another post that made me think.

    What solved my problem was that I had to install the Finnish language pack and change Finnish as my display language. After a reboot (just in case), the problem disappeared, but now I had a new problem. Xbox app was constantly complaining that Pelipalvelut (Gaming Services in Finnish) needs to be installed, even though everything worked and I did have Gaming Services installed. So... I found a Powershell command that uninstalled Gaming Services and then I let Xbox app to install it and now everything works. But I am stuck having a Finnish operating system (yes, I am a Finn so this is quite an ironic problem that I wish to use the English language in my OS), because otherwise the streaming breaks again (I tested this by changing the display language back to English).

    Hopefully this at least helps someone else with this mysterious issue :|

    Windows 11 won't connect to Xbox series x.

    That’s the thing neither will work on remote casting it’s just a black screen on the Xbox app and it won’t appear when I press windows + K for remote display so neither will work.

    You download the Xbox conpanon app to wireless display or if you want remote play it or cloud stream if you have gamepass ultimate
